| The Truck committee started on this journey with a purpose of replacing our 30 year old ladder truck. When current build times are 4 years it became apparent that we would be better served replacing an engine and a rescue truck which are 30+ year old trucks already and utilizing all of our current equipment with an upgraded rescue engine. This may sound like a quick fix but in reality the truck committee worked incredibly hard to narrow down which manufacturers would be able to build the trucks to fit all of our needed specific equipment, modernize lighting, upgrade our aerial platform to prepare us for the next 30 years of the future on Chincoteague. With all that in mind the committee travelled to two different manufacturers who both have excellent products but ultimately chose to go with Pierce Mfg and Atlantic Emergency Solutions. Our salesman Doug Parker did an outstanding job putting the wishes of the company into something feasible and innovative.
If all goes to plan we will receive these trucks in 2030!
